[Everyone] Bring Your Daughter To Work Day

Just a reminder that next Wednesday is Bring Your Daughter To Work Day.
After last year's event, I want to make the following things clear:
1. This is not Bring Your Pet To Work Day. Bring Your Pet To Work Day is
in September. There was confusion last time, and some people took offence.
2. Technically, BYD2WD is for girls of school age, to give them an idea of
the exciting career opportunities that await them in a forward-thrusting,
virile workplace environment like Pretend Office. However after last
year's poor turnout we've decided to relax the rules a little and you
should feel free to bring in daughters of any age.
3. If you don't have a daughter to bring to work, you should NOT:
a) Bring somebody else's daughter to work, or
b) Take the day off
4. The day is not sexist, it's about rebalancing sexist attitudes inherent
in the workplace. Do not put your son in a dress and bring him. Apart from
anything else he probably won't enjoy it, and the guys in IT will make fun
of him. Apart from Clive, who apparently likes that kind of thing. Don't
type that last bit, Gladys. It was a joke. Yes, it--For heaven's sake,
woman, do you have no sense of humour at all? Bloody Jesus, really I....
Let's just move on, okay? Where were we? What's the next one? Five? Okay.
5. You are permitted to bring any number of daughters up to two, as long
as they are your own. That is, as long as they are biologically your
children, or you think they are.
6. A small buffet lunch will be provided in Myra Beckinridge. There will
be non-sugar fairy cakes and low-fat jelly. Nothing too fattening. First
come first served!
7. The server room is not to be used as a creche. Even if it is a hot day.
8. If necessary your daughter(s) can bring her/their daughter(s).
9. Once your daughter(s) have got a clear idea of what you do at Pretend
Office, please take her/them over to Ideation, where there's a lot of
filing that needs to be done.
Have a fantastic Bring Your Daughter To Work Day!
